Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Jahangir Khan, a close aide of party General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, was paraded in shorts on the streets of Falta by cops on Thursday, days after he was arrested near the India-Nepal border.
In the video that has now gone viral, Jahangir was seen being escorted by police personnel on the streets. While Jahangir who has earlier described himself as Falta’s ‘Pushpa’ was seen in white polo tees and shorts, the uniformed cops were armed and wearing helmets.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court at Diamond Harbour remanded Jahangir to five days of police custody. Khan was arrested in connection with multiple extortion and criminal cases. He was produced before the court in connection with a case involving the robbery of a businessman.
Jahangir was arrested from Panitanki Bazar under Kharibari Police Station by the West Bengal Special Task Force (STF) in a joint raid with the Darjeeling Police team.
Jahangir was fielded by the TMC from the Falta Assembly in the West Bengal Assembly elections last month, but announced his withdrawal from the election before the repolling on May 21.
