The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has ja leading in 111 constituencies, according to data released by the Election Commission of India at 11 AM.
According to the data, Trinamool Congress (TMC) is currently trailing behind, and leading in 69 seats. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) is ahead in one constituency.
Among smaller players, the Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatantrik Morcha and the Aam Janata Unnayan Party have taken early leads in one seat each.
No constituencies have been declared won yet, with all 183 seats still falling under the “leading” category as counting continues.
In total West Bengal has 294 assembly constituencies.
The early trend started celebrations at several BJP offices including its offices in Sector V and Murlidhar Lane in Kolkata.
