Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Thursday congratulated two meritorious students of the Higher Secondary examination through video calls shortly after the declaration of the Class XII results by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education.
This year, the overall pass percentage in the Higher Secondary examination stood at 91.23 per cent, while 64 students figured in the merit list. S
Soon after the results were announced, the Chief Minister spoke to Adrito Pal, a student of Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission, who secured the first rank in the state with 496 marks. Mr Adhikari also interacted with Megha Majumdar of Serampore Ramesh Chandra Girls’ High School, who secured the fifth position in the merit list and emerged as the top-ranking girl student with 492 marks. According to sources in the Chief Minister’s Office, Mr Adhikari congratulated both students for their academic achievements and spoke with their parents during the video calls. He reportedly described their success as an inspiration for students across the state. During his interaction with Adrito, the student was at home with family members when the Chief Minister called to extend his greetings.
Mr Adhikari enquired about his future academic plans and also conveyed his best wishes to the family. The Chief Minister later spoke with Megha Majumdar and her parents and praised her performance in the examination. He informed both students that they would soon be invited to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat to be formally felicitated for their achievements. In a message posted on social media, Mr Adhikari said the accomplishments of the students reflected hard work, perseverance and dedication. “I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to them for their outstanding success. Through hard work, perseverance and concentration, they have set an inspiring example for students across the state,” the Chief Minister wrote.
He further assured the students of all possible assistance from the state government as they pursue higher education. “I have assured them of every necessary support in their journey towards higher studies. I am confident that in future too they will continue to bring glory to Bengal and the country through their talent and merit,” he added. Adrito attributed his success to the guidance of the monks and teachers of Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission, along with the support of his family members. His parents also expressed gratitude to the institution for nurturing the student academically and morally.
Megha Majumdar’s performance drew praise in her hometown of Serampore, with teachers and relatives describing her achievement as a matter of pride for the school and the district.
