The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday released its second list of candidates for the West Bengal Assembly elections, including the names of candidates contesting from seven Assembly constituencies in Hooghly district.

The candidates are: Bhaskar Bhattacharya from Serampore, Dilip Singh from Champdani, Sumana Sarkar from Balagarh, Tushar Kumar Majumdar from Pandua, Debashis Mukherjee from Chanditala, Prasanjit Bag from Jangipara, and Barnali Das from Dhaniakhali.

Bhaskar Bhattacharya, the BJP candidate for the Serampore Assembly constituency and a senior party leader from the district, said: “We stand for parivartan (change). Our fight against the Trinamul Congress is against corruption, lawlessness and anti-industrial policies, and to ensure and uphold the constitutional rights of the common people. I am confident of my victory, as the people of Bengal are eager for change. The BJP will provide clean and transparent governance.”
