Ganja seized: The North Bengal BSF frontier headquarters and Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), in a joint operation, seized around 2,356 kg ganja from Ghoshpukur in the Phansidewa police station area on Sunday. Two persons were intercepted in this connection. “The estimated price of the seized item is more than Rs 1.17 crore,” said a BSF official.
Bangla woman: Police intercepted a suspected Bangladeshi woman, who was allegedly trafficked, as she arrived in Siliguri on Sunday and started questioning her.

One killed: One person was killed after his motorbike collided with a lorry at PWD More, near Naukaghat on Saturday night.
Child rescued: Local residents of Chittaranjan Colony rescued a child on Sunday. According to locals, they spotted the child with a local resident. “On questioning, the person Khokan Chakrbarty said he had adopted the child. However, after some time he fled after keeping the child in his house. We called police and they admitted the child to the Siliguri district hospital,” said a local.
Two killed, 10 injured: Two persons were killed and 10 others injured in a road accident when a lorry hit a small passenger vehicle at Katagarh area on Sunday morning after it lost control. The 10 injured were rushed to Malda Medical College Hospital. Police detained the lorry but the lorry driver fled.
Child’s body found: The body of a four-year-old girl child, Aysha Khatun, was found in a creek at Alipur village in Bhatun in the Raiganj police station area of North Dinajpur district on Sunday morning.
