Raid at Abhishek Banerjee’s Kalighat residence
The court order came days after a joint team of the Salboni Police Station, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), and Kolkata Police personnel carried out a search operation at Abhishek Banerjee’s residence at Kalighat in a dramatic pre-dawn operation.
State police sources claimed that when the Salboni police team moved towards Kolkata to trace Roy, the tower location showed his mobile phone at Abhishek Banerjee’s residence. The location reportedly continued to show Roy’s mobile phone at the same place till around 2.30 am, around 30 minutes before police personnel reached the residence.
Police personnel faced resistance when they were denied entry into Abhishek’s residence. The security team later broke the lock at the entrance gate with the help of State Disaster Management personnel, following which a three-hour raid and search operation was conducted inside the premises.
