Trinamul Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee has expressed happiness over the overwhelming response from the people of Nandigram where Sebaashray camps have been opened in two blocks.
The camps will continue till 31 January except tomorrow when Saraswati Puja will be held. Mr Banerjee in his X handle wrote: “Barring tomorrow, the Sebaashray camps in Nandigram will continue till 31 January. I sincerely thank our doctors and medical professionals for their unwavering commitment to humanity. Sebaashray stands because of their dedication.”
Till Wednesday, 3,434 registrations were made at Nandigram twin camps with 118 health check-ups conducted. Around 118 people were given free medicines and 51 patients were referred for further treatment.
The follow up Sebaashray 2 camps in Diamond Harbour Lok Sabha seat will start on 24 January and continue till 28 January. It has received overwhelming response from the people.
Meanwhile, Mr Banerjee condoled the death of Jahangir Sheikh, BLA2 and a member of the panchayat samity. Mr Banerjee held the Election Commission of India responsible for the death and held its unplanned SIR for this.
Mr Banerjee expressed his grief and condoled his death. He was a member of Panchhupi Gram Panchayat under the Baroan (SC) Assembly seat. More than 100 people including BLOs have died because of unbearable pressure on them and after they were served SIR notices.
