Komaki Electric has introduced two new electric scooters in India. The models are called MG Pro V and MG Pro+. The MG Pro V is priced at ₹73,999. The MG Pro+ costs ₹79,999. Both prices are ex-showroom.

Metal Body construction

Both scooters feature an all-metal body. This is different from most scooters in this price range. Many budget electric scooters use fibre panels instead. Komaki says the metal body improves durability. It also aims to give a sturdier riding feel on Indian roads.

Battery and range

The MG Pro V uses a 2.2kWh LiFePO4 battery. It offers a claimed range of 90 to 100 km per charge. The MG Pro+ has a larger 2.7kWh battery. Its claimed range goes beyond 150 km. Both scooters use LiFePO4 battery technology. The company says this improves safety and battery life.

Motor and performance

Both scooters run on a BLDC hub motor. The motor is rated at 2.2kW, or about 2.95bhp. Top speed for both models is 60 km/h. Charging takes around four hours for a full charge.

Design and features

Both scooters share a similar design. They have a sharp body shape. Indicators sit inside the front panel. Buyers can choose from four colours. These are Black, Frost White, Garnet Red, and Metal Grey.

Both models come with a digital display. It shows speed, battery level, and other data. A companion mobile app tracks battery health and range. The scooters also include keyless start, anti-theft lock, and park assist.

Suspension and brakes

The scooters ride on a 12-inch front tyre and a 10-inch rear tyre. Suspension includes a telescopic front fork and twin rear shocks. Braking comes from a front disc brake and a rear drum brake.

Warranty

Komaki is offering a 3-year or 30,000 km warranty. This covers whichever limit comes first. The warranty also applies to the battery and motor-controller units.

Market position

The MG Pro+ gets a larger boot compared to the MG Pro V. This makes it more useful for daily tasks like grocery runs or short deliveries. These scooters compete with other budget electric models. Rivals include Joy e-bike Wolf Plus, Ozotec Flio, Joy e-bike Gen Next, Ampere Reo, Nanu Plus, and Ampere Magnus Neo.

Company statement

Gunjan Malhotra, Co-founder of Komaki Electric Vehicles, spoke about the launch. She said affordability should not come at the cost of quality. She added that features like a metal body and long-lasting batteries were once limited to costlier vehicles. Komaki wants to bring these features to more buyers. She said the scooters are built to handle everyday Indian road conditions.

Summary

With the MG Pro V and MG Pro+, Komaki adds two budget-friendly options to its lineup. The scooters combine metal-body durability with long battery life. This puts them in direct competition with other electric two-wheelers in the sub-₹80,000 segment.
