Indian Motorcycles is all set to launch its flagship motorcycle, the Roadmaster Elite, in India on Wednesday. Unveiled last year, the uber-premium cruiser is expected to be priced at around Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom), making it one of the most expensive motorcycles in India. What’s more, only 300 units of the cruiser will be available worldwide.

So why the soul-crushing price tag? Well, for starters, the Indian Roadmaster Elite comes with a custom dual-tone blue and black colour scheme, which according to the company, is done by hand and takes 30 hours to be completed. If that’s not enough, the ‘Indian’ logo on the fuel tank comes wrapped in a 23-carat gold leaf!

But “premium-ness” isn’t just limited to cosmetics. The Roadmaster Elite also comes with a host of features such as Ride Command System, which lets you monitor advance vehicle data, average fuel economy, Bluetooth status, music control and GPS navigation. All these features can be accessed via a 7-inch touchscreen that lets you operate the various functions even with riding gloves on.

In addition to this, you also get a long list of features such as a 300W premium audio system, dual-climate heated seats, heated grips, passenger armrests, a premium touring console, pinnacle mirrors, billet aluminium passenger and driver floorboards and more!

Powering the luxury cruiser is the same 1811cc ‘Thunder-Stroke’ V-Twin engine that is seen on the standard model. This unit churns out 139Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel by a belt drive. The Roadmaster Elite also gets lockable waterproof saddlebags and ABS as standard. Indian will bring the Roadmaster Elite to our shores via the CBU route.
