‘I’m a huge fan of Modi’: Malayalam actress Urmila Unni joins BJP

Popular Malayalam film and television actor Urmila Unni officially joined the BJP at a function in Kochi on Tuesday.

Urmila received the party’s membership from BJP leader AN Radhakrishnan on the occasion in the presence of prominent party leader and renowned film producer G Suresh Kumar.

Speaking to the media after joining the saffron party, she revealed that she is a Narendra Modi fan. “I have always been a BJP fan in my heart, but I have never been active in it,” she said.

Urmila’s induction into the BJP fold is part of the saffron party’s wider strategy to attract well-known cultural figures to expand its influence in the state. It is also noteworthy that Urmila Unni joined the BJP at a time when the local body elections are round the corner.
