The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019’s biggest encounter has finally begun at the Old Trafford, Manchester where India are batting first against their arch-rivals Pakistan.

After a century-plus stand between Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, Virat has joined Rohit at the crease.

Kl Rahul departed after scoring a well made 57 runs while Rohit is still batting after completing his 24th ODI Century.

However, it might amaze you to know that there are players who have played for both these countries.

Amir Elahi

Former cricketer Amir Elahi was born in Lahore. A cricket lover since his childhood, Elahi started his international career with the Indian cricket team. Elahi made his debut for India against Australia way back in the year 1947.

Elhai played only one match for India as he went to Pakistan post India’s partition and started playing for the Pakistan Cricket team.

He went on to play another 5 Tests for Pakistan. Aged 44, Elahi played his last Test against the team he had made his debut for – India.

Gul Mohammad

Left-handed batsman and medium pace bowler Gul Mohammad also played for both India and Pakistan. Gul started playing international cricket for India but played his last Test for Pakistan.

He played his first match featuring in the 1946 India-England Test. However, post partition he played for Pakistan.

Having played a total of 9 Tests in his career, Mohammad played his last Test in 1956. He scored 205 runs and picked up a couple of wickets.

Abdul Kardar

Born in Lahore, Abdul Kardar also started his cricketing career with the Indian team. The Left-handed batsman and bowler made his Test debut in 1946 for India. He featured in three Tests for India and scored 80 runs. Post that he went to Pakistan and started playing for their cricket team.

Abdul played his last international match in 1958. He has a total of 927 runs to his credit along with 21 wickets.
