The project monitoring group (PMG) of Cabinet Secretariat has appreciated progress made in implementation of the Cabinet Committee Infrastructural projects in Odisha, claimed senior state government officials here. 
They informed that the additional secretary to the Cabinet Secretariat review the progress of the projects, where the lauded the Odisha government&’s initiatives. Around 53 projects relating to coal, railway, power, national highway and steel were reviewed in the meeting. “Reviewing the projects in a high level meeting, Mr Swarup said that the progress in land acquisition has been phenomenal and the developers should fulfill their obligations in time,” said a senior official.  Mr Swarup asked the developers and concerned departments to update the progress against each project in the website portal of the PMG so that the pending issues can be taken up expeditiously.  Chief SecretaryJugal Kishore Mohapatra, who chaired the meeting, called upon the authorities and project implementing agencies to make use of this collaborative effort and remove the bottlenecks on the way of implementation of the projects. 
It is worth mention  that Cabinet Committee on Investment (CCI)  has been set up to fast track the large investment projects facing delays due to various clearances at different levels both Central and State. In line with it, the PMG of CCI reviewed the large projects in Odisha in order to remove the implementation bottlenecks and expedite the process. 
The issues relating to forest clearances, taking possession over the land acquired, tree cutting, Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) survey,   FRA and PTG certificates, overlapping coal block areas, utilization of low grade ore by domestic industries, were discussed and sorted out in the meeting. 
The state government officials claimed that the matters relating to forest and environmental clearances, other statutory clearances and land acquisition have been accomplished within time lines.
