Bhubaneswar, 24 October: The flood situation in the state is feared to worsen with the Bhubaneswar centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting more rains under influence of a well-marked low pressure area.
“Rain and thundershower would occur at most places over Odisha. Heavy to very Heavy Rainfall would occur at one or two places with also extremely heavy fall at one or two places over Odisha during next 24 hours and thereafter decrease in rainfall over Odisha,” said the latest weather bulletin in a dire prediction.
While suggesting hoisting Local Cautionary Signal Number Three (LC-III) at all ports in Odisha, the met office predicted that squally weather with wind speed reaching 45 to 55 km per hour gusting to 65 km per hour may prevail along and off Odisha coast.
“Sea condition would be rough to very rough. Fishermen are advised not to venture into sea,” the bulletin added.      sns
