Greater Noida based man held for alleged GST frauds
Using his PAN number, fraudulent transactions to the tune of Rs 14.80 crore were done within a short duration between July 2019 and November 2019, a police communiqué said on Wednesday.

At least 12 jawans of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) sustained injuries when a group of agitating fishermen clashed with them here yesterday.
According to reports, the fishermen living at Sandhkuda slum area were staging a demonstration seeking resumption of power supply to their house ~ through hooking ~ by burning tyres and raising slogans when the clash took place.
A CISF official claimed that the fishermen pelted stones at the jawans injuring at least 12 of them. One assistant sub-inspector of police (ASI), who was present during the agitation, was also wounded.
Basing on the FIR lodged by the CISF authorities, police have arrested three fishermen.
Sources said that the slum dwellers had taken illegal connection from the electric cables to the CISF colony which was disconnected by the jawans recently.
Later, a group of fishermen met the assistant commandant of CISF Mr PK Gochhi requesting resumption of the supply which he declined, suggesting they talk either to Paradip Port Trust (PPT) authorities or energy department officials.
The denial of help by Mr Gocchi and their failure to meet the CISF commandant infuriated the fishermen who went for agitation yesterday.
Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
“Acting on the FIR lodged by the CISF, we have arrested three fishermen ~ Mr Chandan Jena, Mr Rajesh Mishra and Mr Rabindra Behera. They have been forwarded to court,” said IIC of Paradip police station, Mr Shiva Prasad Mohapatra.
