One of the most idyllic islands in Seychelles, beautiful La Digue got its name after a ship in the fleet of French explorer Marc-Joseph Mariondu Fresne, who visited Seychelles in 1768.

A hidden paradise, away from the bustling world, La Digue lies in the east of Praslin and west of Felicite island. It claims to be the world’s most beautiful island in the Indian Ocean. It is also popular for its incredible granite seascapes.

 

The place is accessible only on foot

La Digue is the third largest island in the Seychelles in terms of population. There is no airport in La Digue. One can ferry across from Victoria, and the area is accessible only on foot or bicycles.
