Now Indian Police to fight digitally with criminals through this new AI-powered app

The future of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is such that it can also help Police fight against increasing number for criminals digitally.

A Gurgaon-based AI startup, Staqu, has got an AI-powered mobile application that allows Police to carry the database of criminals in their pocket and identify criminals, on the fly.

“Maintaining records or tracing criminals or missing people has been an offline and tedious task for the police forces. However, with the launch of this mobile phone application, police officers no longer write everything regarding investigation,” noted press statement.

According to company, this app provides expressed access to police personnel, with their own login password for either registering or searching for criminals on mobile. The data can be profiled better with all criminal records including biometric features like face, fingerprints and speech identification.

At present the app supports Hindi and English, and can store & compute all biometric information. Its database is protected via superior AI technologies, adds company.

The AI-app company in its pilot program has now collaborated with Alwar Police Force in Rajasthan to Launch ABHED (AI Based Human Efface Detection). Previously, it worked with Punjab Police, where it is said to be a success in its pilot programme.

At the launch of the pilot program, the SP, Rahul Prakash said, “Our officers are really excited to have such a tool at their disposal. With its ease of searching, our investigation process will become extremely effective.”

In Punjab, the app already has a database of 35,000 criminals. The police have reportedly used the app to solve some of the critical cases involving the identification and quick nabbing of criminals.
