Nokia, STL partner to develop connectivity solutions for govts, enterprises
The companies will explore 5G use cases for enterprises and compelling solutions for data centres.
HMD Global on Tuesday launched its flagship Nokia 8 smartphone at Rs. 36,999 in India. The smartphone features 13MP + 13 MP rear camera system with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection auto focus (PDAF), IR range finder and dual tone flash.
The selfie camera on Nokia 8 is a 13MP shooter with PDAF and f/2.0 aperture. It features a 5.3-inch QHD IPS display with 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
The device has “Dual-Sight” video or “Bothie” feature that lets simultaneously livestream a selfie while also using its main camera, in a splitscreen visual, for both photos and videos.

“We’ve worked to bring three world firsts – the debut collaboration with ZEISS, OZO spatial 360 degree audio and real-time livestreaming using ‘Dual-Sight’ mode,” said Ajey Mehta, Vice President-India, HMD Global, in a statement.
The Nokia 8 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage which is expandable with microSD card slot up to additional 256GB. It is backed by a 3090mAh battery and features Qualcomm’s Quick Charge technology.
It runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat, but Nokia says it will soon get upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo. The handset is also Splashproof with IP54 ratings.

The Nokia 8 is priced at Rs. 36,999 in India. It will be available on Amazon and select retail stores across India starting October 14. The phone comes in comes in Polished Blue, Tempered Blue and Steel colours for now.
