The state government and the state election commission (SEC) has policy-wise decided to use VVPAT but it depends whether the poll body will have an adequate supply of machines before the election.
The commission has said that these EVMs won`t be used for voting on Tuesday.

The declaration of results for the Delhi Lok Sabha seats may get delayed by around five to six hours (on May 23) as more time will be spent on counting VVPATs from each of the 70 Assembly segments.

The apex court had earlier too declined the demand for matching of EVM-VVPAT results in 50 per cent cases, saying it will require huge manpower and will not be feasible in view of infrastructural difficulties.
Petitioner Sunil Ahya contended before the court that such a clause deters an elector from reporting any discrepancies observed at the time of casting vote.
