Sensex, Nifty open in green ahead of Modi swearing in

The Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the BSE, which had closed at 39,502.05 points on Wednesday, opened higher at 39,580.28 points. Minutes into trading, it was quoting at 39,600.35 points, up by 98.30 points, or 0.25 per cent.

BSE Sensex, which had closed at 36,542.27 points on Wednesday, opened higher at 36,691.93 points; at NSE, the broader 51-scrip Nifty that had closed at 11,053.80 points on Wednesday was quoting at 11,062.20 points, up by 8.40 points or 0.08 per cent

Late selling of stocks halts 9-day winning run, Sensex down 63 points

The BSE Sensex, after resuming higher at 34,443.42, advanced to hit a high of 34,591.81 on buying by domestic institutional investors (DIIs) as well as retail participants.  However, investors preferred to lock in gains towards the close of the session, with the benchmark finally ending at 34,331.68, down 63.38 points, or 0.18 per cent.
