During the meeting, the Indian side made constructive suggestions for resolving the remaining areas but the Chinese side was not agreeable and also could not provide any forward-looking proposals.
The matter was also raised on Sunday at the parliament's Business Advisory Committee meeting.
The army is committed to maintaining peace and tranquillity through dialogue but is also equally determined to protect its territorial integrity, Indian Army said.
The enhancement of combat capabilities by the two armies in the region came even as both countries continued their efforts to resolve the dispute through talks at military and diplomatic levels.
When the skirmishes between the Indian and Chinese Army took place, around the same time Chinese chopper were spotted along the LAC in Ladakh, last week.
Army sources said the incident occurred due to deferring perceptions about the Line of Actual Control (LAC) between India and China.
The President's comments came only two days after he refused to rule out use of force against what he termed as foreign interventions and separatists in Taiwan.
