Marking its territory from Golf Green to Salt Lake, Chowman has given Kolkata yet another destination for authentic Oriental cuisine at Behala. The inauguration of the latest den of this lip-smacking eatery was graced by the presence of Tollywood actors Arunima Ghosh and Soham. This 55-seater all-day dining outlet has its signature décor, an elegant red-and-black scheme surrounded by low lighting along with the bronze Buddha, pots and bells thoughtfully put together for a soothing ambiance.

The place not only serves a wide assortment of prawn, chicken, fish, pork, lamb and crab dishes but also offers an array of scrumptious vegetarian fare as well. “Behala is not known for having Chinese restaurants. Most residents go to Park Street or to South City Mall for a meal. Chowman has always created eating destinations and we wish to continue in other parts of the city by the end of this year,” said Debaditya Chaudhury, managing director, Chowman Chain of Restaurants and founder-member of Bengali rock band Lakkhichhara.

The place is set up exclusively to give each visitor a fine dining experience and the ambiance is created with personally handpicked decor from the markets of China and Hong Kong. All the essential ingredients, from sauces to crockery and cutlery, have been imported. Apart from the interiors and lavish spreads, special attention has been given to the hospitality. Combining contemporary elegance, an intimate ambience and an unparalleled service.  A delectable four-course meal for two will cost Rs.800 plus taxes.
