Tata Power’s nationwide energy conservation programme, Club Enerji, has constantly endeavored to bring about an active change in the attitude amongst citizens towards curbing energy-wastage through active measures and preserving Mother Earth.

Continuing with the momentum, the Mini Clubs across the nation celebrated “Earth Hour” this year by organising week-long activity Batti Bandh – a unique initiative aimed at educating school children to conserve energy. The following schools in Kolkata participated in initiative: I P Memorial School, Delhi Public School, Calcutta Boys High School, St. Stephens High School and St. Michael High School.

More than 33,000 students across 66 schools in Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Pune and Bangalore participated in the Batti Bandh initiative by switching off all non-essential electrical gadgets and also organising awareness drives. The students enthusiastically participated in awareness rallies chanting slogans like ‘Save Electricity’, ‘Save Water Save Earth’ and ‘Less Pollution The Best Solution’ etc. carrying handmade posters and banners, and carrying placards with paintings depicting different ways of energy conservation.
