Former Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof announces retirement
Former Pakistan women’s team captain Bismah Maroof announced her retirement from all forms of cricket with immediate effect.
“I don't think about redemption at all," said the 28-year-old ace batsman.
Indian Cricket team captain Virat Kohli on Wednesday declared that holders India are in a good shape and will look to let their cricket do the talking.
Speaking to the media prior to the team’s departure for the tournament in England, Kohli responded to a query suggesting that redemption was on his mind by saying, “I don't think about redemption at all. Winning for India is the only thing that matters and I am solely focused on it.”
On the topic of the opening combination India may employ, Kolhi added, “The last Champions Trophy helped us find the opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan,” suggesting that the Indians may go ahead with a similar strategy this time around.

Playing down the favourites tag, the 28-year-old felt going into the tournament with the thought of being defending champions is not ideal, asserting “The biggest challenge is to not think that we are the defending champions.”
