Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata, who scored the match-winning goal on Sunday, firmly believes the 1-0 victory against Manchester United in a Premier League match at Stamford Bridge is a big win for everyone associated with the Blues.

“It’s a big win for the manager, for the club, the team and everyone who works for Chelsea. It was a great day for everybody and we are very happy,” Morata said as quoted by club’s official website.

The 25-year-old Spanish striker found the back of the nest in the 55th minute of the Premier League thriller. It was the Spaniard’s eighth goal of the season.

Morata was delighted to play such a pivotal role in Chelsea’s win as he said: “It is very important for us because we needed these three points before the international break. We are very happy because we played well and we deserved this win.”

“I’m pleased I scored but the most important thing was that we won and got back to winning ways. We go into the international break with three points and this is very important for us,” he added.

Earlier in the week, Chelsea had suffered a 0-3 defeat to Serie A side, Roma, in a Champions League Group stage match.
