The right-hander from Maharashtra scored 125 runs off 109 balls to power the men-in-blue to an emphatic seven-wicket win over Australia. With this, the hosts wrapped the five-match ODI series by 4-1.
Steve Smith-led Australia managed to win a single match in the thrilling ODI series. Aaron Finch and David Warner slammed impressive knocks of 94 and 124 respectively as the Aussies secured a consolation victory in Bengaluru.
Although Rohit had contributed well in Bengaluru, scoring 65 runs, his team failed to capitalise on the advantage.
In all, the 30-year-old Indian made 296 runs in five ODIs and was given the Man Of The Match (MOTM) award for his 125-run knock in Nagpur.
