India’s ace shuttler PV Sindhu defeated Nozomi Okuhara of Japan 2-1 to lift the Korea Open Superseries title on Sunday. In the fiercely-fought final, Sindhu won the first set 22-20, lost the second 11-21 and fought with grit to win the third 21-18, thus clinching the first ever title by an Indian in Korea.
This is her second Super Series final after winning the title in India Open earlier this year. Nozomi Okukara had defeated Sindhu in a marathon final at World Championships just two weeks back. Sindhu had defeated Okuhara in Olympics.
