Roger Federer may have won an impressive seven Wimbledon titles, but the 35-year-old star remains humble as ever as he approached his 11th final in the same vein as he did his first.
The 18-time Grand Slam champion, who beat Tomas Berdych in straight sets in their semi-final on Friday, tweeted after his win: “So so happy and privileged to be in another @Wimbledon final. See you all Sunday”.
Federer is yet to drop a set as he has surged to the final and enjoys a far superior head-to-head (6-1) against his opponent on Sunday, Marin Cilic.

Cilic last met Federer in the 2016 Wimbledon quarter-finals, pushing the Swiss to the limit in a gruelling five-setter which Federer won ultimately. However, Cilic got the best of Federer enroute to his maiden Slam title, at the 2014 US Open, which would suggest that there is a danger of an upset.
The 35-year-old Swiss’s career may be winding down, but a glorious year it has been as Federer wrapped up the 2017 Australian Open before going on to win the Indian Wells and Miami Masters.
Federer did skip the French Open, however, as he sought to preserve his energies for the grass court slam and his tactics have paid off handsomely, with a straightforward march to a final where history beckons.
