India lost their opener, KL Rahul (7), early though Murali Vijay (2) and Cheteshwar Pujara (2) stood tall at stumps, helping the hosts score 11/1 after wrapping Sri Lanka for paltry 205 runs on the first day of the second Test in Nagpur on Friday.

Pacer Lahiru Gamage gave India the early blow, bowling Rahul out in the fourth over.

Earlier, spin-duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja caused havoc for the Lankans, who appeared struggling throughout the day.

Ashwin claimed four wickets, while Jadeja took the scalp of three batsmen.

After winning the toss, Sri Lanka opted to bat first though they failed to make a brisk start. Opener Sadeera Samarawickrama lost his wicket for 13 runs in the fifth over to Ishant Sharma, who appeared in great shape on Day 1.

Speedster Sharma contributed in the bowling assault claiming three big wickets.

For Sri Lanka, captain Dinesh Chandimal and Dimuth Karunaratne were the only successful batsmen in the first innings.

Scoring four boundaries and a six, Chandimal scored for 57 runs before losing his wicket to Ashwin. Karunaratne made 51 runs, entertaining the Nagpur crowd with six boundaries.
