Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth added glory to his recent Indonesia Open title victory as he defeated World No. 1 Son Wan-Ho 15-21, 21-13, 21-13 to enter the quarter-finals of the Australian Open Super Series on Thursday.
Srikanth's compatriot B Sai Praneeth also sailed to the next round as he posted a 21-15, 18-21, 21-13 win over China's Huang Yuxiang.
This is Srikanth's second victory over Wan-Ho in a week as he earlier outclassed the South Korean shuttler in the semi-finals of the Indonesia Open.

In the women's doubles, Ashwini Ponappa and Sikki Reddy suffered a defeat from the Japanese pair of Koharu Yonemoto and Shiho Tanaka. The Japanese duo beat Ponappa-Reddy by 21-18, 18-21, 13-21 in the second round match of the tournament.
