Legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar, who has inspired many lives with his work and word of wisdom, motivated yet another budding sportsperson on Friday, this time a 12-year-old badminton player from Kanpur Shrihari Katti.

“Thank you for your kind letter, Shrihari! Glad to know that you play Badminton. Keep working hard always! My best wishes. #100MB,” Sachin said on Twitter, sharing a letter that he received from the Kanpur boy.

In his letter, Shrihari wrote: “I am a very big fan of yours but not of cricket’s. I am reading your autobiography and I found it very interesting and extremely inspiring. I myself play badminton.”

Hailing the autobiography – Playing It My Way, the boy added that the book has developed great sportsmanship qualities in him.

“While reading your autobiography, I learnt how to lose and to correct my mistakes. I profusely thank you for developing these qualities in me,” he added.

Shrihari also revealed his wish that he always wanted to see the god of cricket batting at Green Park Stadium, Kanpur.

“I always wanted to see you playing in Green Park Stadium but unfortunately I did not get the opportunity. I appreciate a lot whatever you have done, you have made us and the country proud of yourself,” Shrihari said.

Earlier, Sachin has acknowledged a six-year-old fan Taara, saying: “Hi, Taara! Thank you so much for writing to me. I’m really glad that you enjoyed the movie. Keep smiling :)”
