The cricket rivalry between India and Pakistan always excites fans, who expect their teams to win in the hyped clash. However, such intense emotions have also inspired aspiring cricketers on both sides of the border. While Pakistan lost to India recently in a Women's World Cup match, one of their cricketers showed her sportsmanship spirit by reaching out to her 'inspiration' from the Indian team.

In a social media post, Pakistani pacer Kainat Imtiaz credited Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami for inspiring her to pursue cricket professionally.

“In 2005, I saw the Indian team for the 1st time as the Asia cup was held in Pakistan. I was the ball picker during the tournament… I saw @jhulangoswami. The fastest bowler of that time. I was so impressed that I chose cricket as a career. Specifically fast bowling,” Imtiaz wrote on Instagram.

Posting a picture with the 5’9” tall Indian speedster, the 25-year-old pacer from Karachi wrote, “It’s a proud moment for me as after 12 years today in 2017, I am playing this ODI World Cup with one of my inspirations and getting more inspired.”

Pakistan lost to India in 95 runs, though Imtiaz didn’t feature in the low-scoring game.

Imtiaz has so far played six ODIs and a T20I for Pakistan claiming four and two wickets, respectively.
