VIJAYAWADA, 18 JUNE: VVS Laxman today stressed the need for good coaches to train cricketers in academies. "The students who enrol in the academies should also pursue their ambition with dedication and commitment," Laxman told reporters after inaugurating the Andhra Cricket Association’s Central Zone Academy at Mangalagiri, near here. Some 35 students were admitted formally to the academy today. Laxman said that the Indian Premier League’s spot-fixing scandal was unfortunate but added that it provided opportunities to aspiring cricketers.
