India won the three-match One-day International series (2-1) after Shikhar Dhawan scored an unbeaten century in the decisive third and final ODI match against Sri Lanka at Visakhapatnam on Sunday.

Earlier, partnership between Shreyas Iyer and Shikhar Dhawan had put India in commanding position, after Sri Lanka got an early breakthrough in the form of Rohit Sharma for 6 runs, who was bowled-out by right arm spinner Dananjaya.

India had restricted Sri Lanka for 215 in 44.5 overs, after Bhuvneshwar Kumar took the last wicket of the Lankan innings.

After dominant start by Lankan team, Indian spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal pulled the game back after dismissing opposition batsman in quick succession.

Hardik Pandya after being too costly in his initial overs, took two wickets after dismissing SS Pathirana for 7 and RAS Lakmal for 1 run.

Chahal taking his wicket tally to three, bowled out Mathews and dismissed NLTC Perera, while Kuldeep Yadav dismissed two Sri Lankan batsman in one over to shift the momentum towards Indian team, after Upal Tharanga made an anchor innings of 95 runs.

Sri Lanka reached the hundred mark after Indian bowler Jaspreet Bumrah provided an early breakthrough in the match after dismissing MD Gunathilaka for 13 runs.

Earlier, Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl against Sri Lanka.

India made one change in their side that beat the Islanders in Mohali, replacing teenage all-rounder Washington Sundar with left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav.

Sri Lanka’s new captain Thisara Perera brought in batsman Sadeera Samarawickrama in place of Lahiru Thirimanne.
