NEW DELHI, 31 AUG: Uttar Pradesh government today transferred Faizabad sub-district magistrate for releasing detained VHP activists who were arrested for violating prohibitory orders and disturbing communal harmony and peace.
The government transfered Ram Sahay Yadav, who was posted as SDM Sadar in Faizabad district, for not taking senior officers in confidence and releasing 15 VHP activists on 25 August, the first day of its yatra, district administration officials said. SP MLA from Ayodhya-Faizabad and state minister Tej Narain Pandey refused to comment. According to district administration sources, Yadav's transfer is part of a routine procedure. pti
