Idli is the perfect way to start your day in traditional South Indian homes. But, to add a little Western flavour with a punch of spices, read the quick recipe below.

Ingredients:

Garlic – 5 flakes (finely chopped)
Spring onions (white part) – 1 tbsp chopped
Spring onions (green part) – 1 tbsp chopped
Capsicum – 1
Black Pepper powder – 1/2 tsp
Soya sauce – 2 tsp 
Tomato sauce – 1 tbsp 
Corn flour – 1 tbsp (mixed with 1/4 cup water)
Oil – 1 tbsp
Salt – to taste

Method:

First, make the idli, deep fry them and put them aside to cool.

Put one table spoon oil in a non-stick pan.

Add garlic and sauté it with onion and chopped capsicum for one minute. Then add soya sauce, tomato sauce and black paper along with corn flour paste.

After mixing all the above ingredients add fried idli to the sauce prepared, salt to taste and sauté for another half a minute.

Garnish it with green coriander and serve hot.
