What is Holi if your clothes are not drenched with colours? Play bindaas this Holi! Don’t worry about the stains of colours on your favourite clothes. For every problemm there is a solution. Try some of these household tips and solutions to rid of Holi stains nightmare.

Non-chlorine bleach: If the clothes are white, soak them in chlorine mixed warm water for an hour. Rinse with water and wash as usual.

Lemon: It is a great natural bleaching agent. Just squeeze some lemon juice on the stains and leave the cloth in the sun for few hours. Then wash with normal detergent.

Hydrogen peroxide: Mix a teaspoon of three per cent of hydrogen peroxide with a little cream of non-gel toothpaste. Rub this paste on the stains and rinse with water. Wash in normal detergent afterwards.

Ammonia-based-spray-on window cleaner: Spray it on the stains. Let it sit for up to 15 minutes. Blot with a clear rag and rinse with normal water. Then, wash off normally.

Undiluted methylated spirit: Dab the stains with a cloth soaked in it. Then wash off normally.

Glycerine: Mix one-third cup of glycerine with one tablespoon of liquid detergent in half bucket of warm water.

Soak the clothes for two hours. Gently rub the stains. Rinse with water. Then wash off as usual.

Important points to keep in mind:-

Wash the stained clothes separately from the normal clothes.

Treat the stains as early as possible. Delay may harden them.

Never use a bleach containing chlorine as it may fade the cloth.

After removing stains, wash off the cloth thoroughly with normal procedure.

Dry the clothes after washing in sun. It will soak up the last remain of the colour.

Wear gloves before starting the treatment to protect your hands from any chemical reaction.

These tricks are very effective in removing Holi colours from your clothes. But, if due to any reason the stain does not go off completely, don’t get depressed. Say bye to your Holi wear keeping in heart the great fun and memories you had while playing colours with your loved ones.
