Star T20 hitter Chris Gayle returned to his devastating best on Tuesday as he smashed 77 runs off 38 balls to take Royal Challengers Bangalore to mammoth score of 213/2 against Gujarat Lions in 20 overs at the SCA Cricket Stadium in Rajkot.

With this, Gayle scripted history as he became the first cricketer to complete 10,000 T20 runs in cricket.

The 37-year-old West Indies’ batsman hit seven sky-touching sixes and five boundaries in the 20th match of the IPL 2017.

At the end of their innings, Travis Head (30*) and Kedar Jadhav (38*) were batting with an unbeaten 54-run partnership stand for the fourth-wicket.

For Gujarat, Dhawal Kulkarni and Basil Thampi were the only successful bowlers as they claimed one wicket each.
