Sri Lankan PM Wickramasinghe to begin his four-day India visit today

Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe will on Tuesday arrive in New Delhi on a four-day visit during which he will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and attend the 5th Global Conference on cyberspace.

As per reports, Wickremesinghe will hold wide-ranging talks with PM Modi on Thursday and the issue of Indian fishermen being arrested by Sri Lanka is also likely to figure.

The two leaders are also expected to discuss issues related to maritime security, in the backdrop of China strengthening its naval presence around Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lankan PM will also call upon President Ram Nath Kovind.

According to officials, Wickremesinghe will participate in the opening ceremony of the cyberspace conference at The Aero City in the national capital which will be inaugurated by PM Modi on Thursday.

Prime Minister Modi had visited Sri Lanka in May during which he attended the biggest Buddhist festival ‘Vesak Day’ as its chief guest.

The Sri Lankan Prime Minister will wrap up his visit on Friday.
