Powerful IEDs recovered near LoC ahead of polling for Udhampur seat
Reports said that the IEDs were recovered near the Line of Control (LoC) in a joint search operation by the Rashtriya Rifles of the Indian Army, CRPF and J&K Police.
An Indian soldier and a civilian porter were killed on Thursday as Pakistani Army opened fire on Indian positions on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, police said.
Police sources said the soldier and porter, working for the army, were killed in the firing in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch.
Pakistani Army resorted to unprovoked firing with mortars, automatics and small arms at Indian positions from 10.35 a.m., Defence Ministry sources said adding that Indian troops “retaliated strongly and effectively”.

The LoC divides Jammu and Kashmir between India and Pakistan.
