Ridiculing Prime Minister Narendra Modi&’s comment that the BJP had suffered more in independent India then the Congress did under the British rule, party vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Friday tweeted a prayer for the PM advising him stop being ignorant and accept the truth.
"Modiji a prayer for you: "Asatoma Sadgamaya Tamasoma Jyotirgamaya Mrityorma Amritam gamaya Om shanti shanti shanty," he tweeted along with a news article which quoted Modi as saying that every effort of his party was seen in bad light.
"Lead me from ignorance to truth – from darkness to light – from death to immortality. Let there be peace for all living creatures," Rahul Gandhi said in another tweet.
Modi made the remarks while laying the foundation stone of a new party office in the national capital on Thursday.
Asserting that the BJP has made more sacrifices than any other party, the PM had lamented that every effort of his party was seen in "bad light".
"BJP will be the only party which has faced adversities since its birth. It faced difficulties at every turn and its every effort was seen in bad light,” he had said.
