PM Modi greets Virat Kohli on his birthday; well-wishers pour love on social media

Birthday wishes to Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli came in proportion to the runs he has scored — loads of them! The well-wishers coming from different spheres of life flooded the Twitter with greetings on the cricket star’s 29th birthday on Sunday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted Virat Kohli through a tweet: “Birthday Greetings to World’s Best Batsman Virat Kohli. May God Bless You With Long,Healthy And Happy Life, Virat Sixes #HappyBirthdayVirat.” PM Modi’s tweet also carried a video in which Kohli is seen battering the bowlers.

Virat Kohli was bombarded with greetings on Twitter by people comprising sportspersons, politicians, film stars, artists, official handles of corporates and even International Cricket Council.

Among those who wished Virat include Suresh Raina, Sourav Ganguly, Ravi Shahstri, Ajinkya Rahane, Ashwin Ravichandran, Angelo Mathews, Cheteshwar Pujara, Harbhajan Singh, Mohammad Shami, Akash Chopra, Mayanti Langer, and Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh, Union Minister Praful Patel and celebrated sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik. Famous chief VIkas Khanna also wished the cricketer on twitter.

From Bollywood, actors Shraddha Kapoor and VIvek Oberoi also greeted the cricket star on Twitter.

Famous sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik tweet with a picture of the sand sculpture of the cricketer.

Earlier, images of Virat Kohli celebrating his birthday with the teammates were largely circulated on the social media, in which the captain is seen cutting the birthday cake.  He also posted some of the pictures on his official twitter handle.
