The Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System today submitted a memorandum to the Chief Electoral Officer, Government of Manipur, urging a halt to the inclusion of fresh non-Manipuri immigrants in the state in the electoral roll.
The memorandum was submitted this afternoon at around 2 pm by
volunteers of the student’s wing of the committee at the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, O Nabakishore.
In the memorandum, the convener of the committee has stated that about one-third of the total population of the state are outsiders. Many of the non-Manipuris who entered in the state recently have had their names included in the electoral roll. 
The memorandum cites the examples of non-Manipuris like Jaleshor Prashad, Ghanashyam Prashad, Indu Devi and Bimola Prashad, who have allegedly entered their names in the electoral roll of Kakching A/C using the fake names
Huirem Jaleshor, Hurem Ghanashyam, Huirem Ongbi Indu Devi and Tonjam Ongbi Bimola Devi respectively. The first three are from Bihar and the fourth person is from Uttar Pradesh, the committee has alleged. 
The case of inclusion of fresh non-Manipuri immigrants in the electoral roll is a major issues in all 60 Assembly constituencies in the state.
