Powerful IEDs recovered near LoC ahead of polling for Udhampur seat
Reports said that the IEDs were recovered near the Line of Control (LoC) in a joint search operation by the Rashtriya Rifles of the Indian Army, CRPF and J&K Police.
On a day long visit to the areas along the Line of Control (LoC), Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra reviewed problems of the people due to frequent shelling by Pakistan army and also the safety arrangements for the civilians.
He received a briefing from Maj Gen Suchindra, GOC 25 Div, about the management of the entire stretch of the LoC. The Governor, who was in the Rajouri district on Wednesday, was also informed about the varied help which the Army provides to the people living in the border belt during the cross-border firing.
Governor was also briefed by Deputy Commissioner Shahid Iqbal on the problems being faced by the residents along the LoC and the rescue, relief and rehabilitation support being provided by the district administration.

The Governor advised Deputy Commissioner to ensure that the academic schedule of schools was least interrupted due to shelling. The Deputy Commissioner also briefed the Governor of the shelter sheds being constructed for the safety of the local residents in the villages.
The Governor also had discussion with Dr Arvind Kumar Ishar, Director of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Rajouri, regarding the activities being carried out by the KVK to upgrade the activities in the agriculture and all its allied sectors.
The Governor asked the Deputy Commissioner to convene an early meeting with Chief Agricultural Officers, all the BDOs, Rural Development Department staff and Director KVK to review the agriculture sector and to lay down clear targets regarding the establishment of Integrated Farming Units, Dairy Farming, Poultry Farming, Fish breeding, Bee Keeping, etc.
