Olympic champion PV Sindhu slammed IndiGo airlines ground staff on social media for allegedly misbehaving with her during her flight from Hyderabad to Mumbai on Saturday.

World number 2, Sindhu, experienced an ‘unsatisfactory’ treatment en route her flight to Mumbai.

Sindhu posted a screenshot on Twitter alleging that certain “Mr Ajeetesh” was very “rude” to her and also misbehaved with the airline air hostess “Ms Ashima”, when she intervened.

According to media reports, the airline has tried to reach out to Sindhu to clarify the issue. The airline has also rejected the ‘claims’ made by PV Sindhu. IndiGo defended its employee, stating that Sindhu was carrying a oversized bag which could not not fit in the overhead bin and was told that the luggage would be moved to the cargo hold of the aircraft, which was later handed over to her at her destination. The airline also said that IndiGo ground staff and other employees remained calm during the episode.

However, the issue remains unclear as to what transpired between Sindu and the IndiGo ground staff.

This is not the first case of sports personalities getting into loggerheads with an airline company. In the past, Sachin Tendulkar and Harbhajan Singh had criticised the British Airlines and Jet Airways, respectively, for shabby treatment.
