Accusing Manohar Lal Khattar-led BharatiyaJanata Party (BJP) government in Haryana of failing to maintain the law and order situation in the state, former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Tuesday sought Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the rape and murder case of a five-year-old girl in district Hisar’sUklana area.

Interacting with the mediapersons, Hooda said that such barbaric incidents showed that law and order machinery in the state has collapsed.Referring to Gurugram’sPradyuman Thakur’s murder case, he also took a dig at failure of Haryana police saying that the state police framed Ryan School bus conductor Ashok Kumar as main accused but later on, no incriminating evidence was found against him by the CBI.Hooda said, “The government should immediately transfer the Uklana rape case to the CBI so that the mistakes of Haryana Police as done in Pradyuman’s murder case are not repeated again and no innocent is framed.”

Hooda also sought that the case pertaining to killing of three children of Sarsa village of Pehowa area in Kurukshetra district should also be handed over to the CBO for the probe. The two-timer CM also took a jibe at BJP’s recent three-day-long ChintanShivir (Contemplation camp) saying that the present government has time only for Chintan, BhojanaurVishram (meditation, food and relaxation).

The ruling party has no vision and it has also failed to fulfill the promises made in its manifesto launched before the elections, he added.

A five-year-old girl was allegedly abducted by some unidentified on Friday night when she was sleeping with her sister and mother in their home in a slum area of Uklana. As per reports, the girl was raped and then killed. Her body was found after few hours at a distance from the place where she was living with her family.

Following the protest by the Opposition parties and the local residents, the state government formed a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the case.
