The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached fixed deposits and balance worth Rs.1.16 crore in the savings bank account of Karti Chidambaram, son of former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram, as part of its investigation into the Aircel-Maxis and Advantage Strategic Case.
“ED attaches FD & balance in saving bank account worth Rs 1.16 Crore of Karti P. Chidambaram in Aircel Maxis & Advantage Strategic Case,” the directorate tweeted.
The Supreme Court had on Friday asked Karti Chidambaram to not leave the country for now as the court will hold a further hearing on the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) plea on October 4.
