In the first phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024, as many as 102 constituencies spanning across 21 states and Union Territories will elect their new MPs.
Congress leader Digvijaya Singh courted massive controversy on Friday after he shared an abusive tweet against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The contentious tweet has a photo of PM Modi and a couple of lines in Hindi laced with profanities to describe the prime minister’s followers.
On top of the tweet Digvijaya Singh wrote: “Not mine but couldn’t help posting it. My apologies to the person concerned. He is the best in the “Art of Fooling!”

The Congress leader clarified that he did not endorse the controversial tweet and just “retweeted” it.
“It is not my tweet and I don’t endorse it. I have just retweeted it. But the fact remains that he (Modi) is the master of lying and making others foo,” he said.
With the Congress making much noise about how at least four people followed by Modi on Twitter have posted hate messages after the murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh, Digvijaya Singh’s tweet might not go down well with the party high command.
