Setting up a Legislative Council in the state, banning auction of sand mining lease to professional contractors, providing 35 kg ration per family per month free to poor families and a  transparent and corruption-free administration are part of Congress’ manifesto for the Assembly poll in Madhya Pradesh.
The party also promises various sops for the poor, unemployed youth, women, farmers and government employees. The manifesto for the poll scheduled on 25 November was released at the MP Congress headquarters today, in the presence of various senior Congress leaders. The Congress has promised a transparent, corruption free, responsible and sensitive government. As part of that, if the Congress comes to power, the CM and all ministers will submit details of their movable and immovable assets in the state Assembly each year. The manifesto also promises to reduce the rate of VAT on petrol and diesel in the state. MP now has one of the highest rates on VAT on these products.
The manifesto also promises to waive off cooperative bank loans of farmers up to Rs 51,000 and disputed power bills while taking back cases of power theft against farmers.
