Workers of the Bajrang Dal alleging ‘love jihad’ prevented an inter-faith marriage in Meerut on Wednesday.

According to media reports, the Bajrang Dal workers allegedly restrained a Hindu girl to register her marriage with a Muslim boy in court.

The Bajrang Dal workers also assaulted the couple. The police at the court premises formed a cordon around the couple to protect them from the Bajrang Dal workers.

The boy is named Saddam Hussain and the girl belongs to Faridabad, reports said.

The families of the couple have been informed and summoned by police.

The couple is kept under police custody in Civil Lines. No action was taken against the notorious right-wing Hindu outfit.

Bajrang Dal’s actions comes few days after a video of woman BJP leader in Aligarh slapping a girl for accompanying a youth from the Muslim community surfaced on social media.
