The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has cancelled a debate on Ram Temple in Ayodhya wherein firebrand BJP leader Subramanian Swamy was supposed to interact with varsity students on the sensitive topic.

As per University sources, the talk titled ‘Why Ram Mandir in Ayodhya?’ was to be held in JNU’s Koyna Hostel on Wednesday night and Swamy was the guest speaker.

“The competent authority has decided that no talk will take place in Koyna Hostel, JNU on 6/6/2017. Hence the talk entitled why Ram Mandir in Ayodhya… has been cancelled,” the senior warden of the hostel said in a notification issued on Tuesday.
